Asia-Pacific Surgical and Cardiovascular Experts Gather in Taipei to Advance Global Academic Collaboration
1. Grand Opening of the 2026 Taiwan Surgical Association Annual Meeting
The 2026 Taiwan Surgical Association Annual Meeting and Joint International Surgical Conference was held from May 15 to 17 at the Taipei International Convention Center. Under the theme “Surgical Leadership for a Healthier World,” the meeting brought together surgical experts from Taiwan and abroad to discuss a wide range of topics, including clinical practice, research innovation, talent cultivation, and international collaboration.
For the first time, an opening ceremony was established for the annual meeting, bringing together representatives from surgical societies across Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. Participants engaged in academic discussions and shared professional experiences, further strengthening regional medical cooperation and professional exchange.
Through keynote lectures and cross-national dialogues, presidents of various surgical subspecialty societies participated in high-level exchanges. International representatives from multiple countries were also invited, elevating the level of academic interaction and global participation, and promoting the integration of clinical techniques and research outcomes with international standards.
2. President Lai Ching-te’s Remarks at the Opening Ceremony

3. APSC President Prof. Jiunn-Lee Lin Attends Academic Exchange
Professor Jiunn-Lee Lin, Advisor to the Taipei Cardiovascular Research Center and President of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology (APSC), attended this international academic event and engaged in professional exchanges with surgical and cardiovascular experts from Taiwan and abroad.
Prof. Lin has long been dedicated to promoting cardiovascular collaboration and academic networking across the Asia-Pacific region, facilitating cross-border research and clinical experience sharing, and continuously enhancing the depth and breadth of regional medical cooperation.
This APSC annual meeting was co-organized under the leadership of APSC President Prof. Jiunn-Lee Lin in collaboration with TSOC, jointly promoting the integrated holding of this international conference.
Prof. Lin stated that this APSC × TSOC Joint Annual Meeting marks a new stage in Asia-Pacific cardiovascular collaboration, and will continue to advance:

4. Medical Team and Deputy Superintendent Participation
The medical team from the Taipei Cardiovascular Research Center, including Director Dr. Chun-Che Shih (Deputy Superintendent of Wan Fang Hospital), along with multiple physicians, were invited to participate in the conference.
